Matthew Sochat, MD

Matthew is a second-year internal medicine resident at Temple. He earned his medical degree from the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University in 2013. Undergraduate-wise, he graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in 2008, where he studied biochemistry and the classics. In his spare time, Matthew enjoys skiing, cooking/baking, traveling, the company of friends and loved ones, and coming up with terrible jokes.

Emilia Calvaresi, PhD

Emilia is a seventh-year MD/PhD student at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), currently in the M3 year and progressing through her core clerkships. During her time in UIUC's Medical Scholars Program, she was awarded a PhD in biochemistry in 2014, studying drugs that target cancer metabolism. Previously, she earned undergraduate degrees in biochemistry and English from Rice University.

Mari is a first-year combined family medicine and psychiatry resident at University of California, San Diego. She received her MD and MPH at the University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine, and is a proud Banana Slug, as she completed her undergraduate education at University of California, Santa Cruz. In her free time, she enjoys journaling, going to the beach, slow-cooking, international travel, and microbreweries.

Nina Kim, MD

Nina is a second-year neurology resident at New York University. She completed her medical degree and internship at the University at Buffalo, and studied neuroscience at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Nina loves cooking, marathon running, reading cultural stories, and fine art.

Toni is a second-year OB/GYN resident at Baystate Medical Center. She graduated from the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and obtained her human biology undergraduate degree at Brown as well. In her spare time, she enjoys racquet sports, dancing, traveling, and baking/cooking.

Alexandra Lloyd-Smith, MD, MSc

Alexandra is a second-year neurology resident at New York University. She completed her preliminary year of internal medicine in Norwalk, Connecticut. Prior to medical school, she studied psychology at McGill University and pursued a master's of clinical neuroscience at University College London, Institute of Neurology. Originally from Vancouver, Canada she enjoys traveling to various unique places throughout the world, exploring the great outdoors, music, dancing, and researching the functional connectivity of the human brain.
