Matthew is a third-year internal medicine resident at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia. He earned his medical degree from the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University in 2013. Undergraduate-wise, he graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in 2008, where he studied biochemistry and the classics. In his spare time, Matthew enjoys skiing, cooking/baking, traveling, the company of friends and loved ones, and coming up with terrible jokes.

Emilia Calvaresi, PhD

Emilia is an MD/PhD student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, currently finishing her fourth year of medical school and graduating in spring 2017. She earned her PhD in biochemistry in 2014 studying drugs that target cancer metabolism. Previously, she earned undergraduate degrees in biochemistry and English from Rice University.

Tarunpreet is a third-year medical student at St. George's University School of Medicine. He is interested in pursuing a career in primary care. He finished undergraduate studies in biology and biochemistry at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada in 2010 and a master’s degree in the field of regenerative medicine at University of Ottawa, Canada in 2012. He is an avid soccer fan. In his spare time, Tarun enjoys chess, hiking, strengthening his knowledge of geography, and spending time with his loved ones.

Zach is a MD/PhD student at Ohio State University. Prior to entering medical school, he earned undergraduate degrees in chemistry and English at Duke University. As a volunteer EMT, he gained an appreciation for medicine, and after graduation, Zach became a research fellow at the Food and Drug Administration in Bethesda. In his spare time, Zach enjoys running, glass blowing at a local studio, and playing with his Springer Spaniel.

Mariel is a current second-year family medicine and psychiatry resident at UC San Diego School of Medicine. She received her MD/MPH from University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and completed her undergraduate education at UC Santa Cruz (She really likes the ocean!). In her spare time, she enjoys going to the beach, exercising, karaoke, dancing, traveling, reading, and binge-watching TV series.

Toni is a current second -year family medicine resident at the University of Michigan Medical Center after completing two years of OB/GYN residency at Baystate Medical Center. She graduated from the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and obtained her human biology undergraduate degree at Brown as well. In her spare time, she enjoys racquet sports, dancing, traveling, and learning new languages.
